Here's who it's not for.

We're picky about who we work with — not because we're snobs, but because the wrong fit creates frustration on both sides. If you read these and any apply, we're probably not your tool.

Eight thingsRead carefully

You want a custom-designed website.

We use polished, professional templates that we customize to your brand colors, logo, and content. We don't build unique designs from scratch. If you need a completely original design, you should hire a design agency.

You want phone or video calls with us.

Everything happens through your portal — sign-up, support, billing, edits, cancellation. We don't have a sales line. We don't do kickoff calls. We don't do “let's hop on a quick Zoom.” If the idea of communicating only through software stresses you out, we're not the right fit.

You want to port your existing phone number.

We provision a new tracked number that Guru answers. You can advertise that number directly, or forward your existing number to it. We don't take ownership of your existing number — it stays yours, as-is. If you specifically need number portability, look elsewhere.

You're brand new with no business yet.

If you don't have customers calling in yet, an AI receptionist has nothing to answer. Guru can't generate demand — it can only handle the demand you already have. If you're pre-revenue, focus on Google Business Profile, paid ads, and word-of-mouth first. Come back when you have steady call volume.

You only run commercial / B2B service contracts.

We're optimized for residential home services where homeowners search Google and call businesses. If 100% of your work is commercial accounts, fleet maintenance, or B2B contracts, the funnel doesn't fit your sales motion.

You want to negotiate pricing.

Pricing is fixed: Starter $197/mo, Complete $297/mo. We don't do custom plans, discounts, or volume deals. If you need an enterprise contract with negotiated terms, we're not built for that. (And honestly: the math already works at our published pricing — we built the offer so you don't need to negotiate.)

You want a back-office operations platform.

We handle customer-facing demand: calls, chat, booking, website, leads. We're not a dispatch system, an invoicing tool, a parts inventory tracker, or a payroll platform. ServiceTitan and Housecall Pro do those things. We work alongside them — but we don't replace them.

You expect us to fix bad service quality.

Guru books appointments. The contractor delivers the work. If your customers complain that you don't show up, do shoddy work, or have terrible reviews unrelated to call handling — Guru can't fix that. We're tools for businesses that already deliver quality. We won't be a good fit for businesses that don't.

Why we wrote this page.

Most marketing pages claim universal fit. We don't believe that, and we suspect you don't either. The customers who sign up understanding what they're getting churn far less than the ones who didn't. So we tell you up-front: if you're a bad fit, please don't sign up. We'd rather you find the right tool than become a frustrated customer.
